| The rotary cutter is an integral part of the rotary cutting group; it receives the dough sheet from the final gauge roll, after the relaxation conveyor, and it has the task of cutting the dough sheet into separate pieces according to desired size and shapes. It consists of two rollers, one for embossing and one for cutting, both driven by the same variable speed motor. Underneath the belt, in direct correspondence with the cutter and embossing rolls, there are two rubber pressure rollers, one for the cutting roller, the other for the embossing roller. The rollers are idle but their pressure against the corresponding mould is adjustable as their height can be set manually. A special device, called “quick drop", lets the operator release them rapidly from their pressure position if and when required. The unit is complete with a scrap pick-up conveyor and a set of lateral scrap return conveyors which transfer the scrap dough to the hopper of the main forming equipment at the head of the line. The machine can be supplied with a working width from 1.000 up to 1.700 mm. All the mechanical components of the unit are housed outside the frame of the machine. This solution, which is consistent with the company's design philosophy, ensures perfect sanitation and easy cleaning of the machinery, while facilitating access for inspection and servicing. | ![]() Details of the cutting and embossing rolls | |
